Música Pop/Rock - Morrissey foi entrevistado recentemente pelo apresentador norte-americano Larry King para o seu programa online Larry King Now e falou sobre o facto de sofrer de depressão há anos e sobre o estado da indústria musical, que defende estar totalmente preocupada com o dinheiro e nada interessada nos artistas.

Ex-Smiths diz que a indústria é "brutal" e só está interessada em fazer dinheiro fácil. 

Morrissey foi entrevistado recentemente pelo apresentador norte-americano Larry King para o seu programa online Larry King Now e falou sobre o facto de sofrer de depressão há anos e sobre o estado da indústria musical, que defende estar totalmente preocupada com o dinheiro e nada interessada nos artistas. 

"Nunca melhorou... Sofro de depressão há muitos, muitos anos", assume o ex-Smiths, "refiro-me a isto como o cão negro. Não vai embora nunca. É a primeira coisa em que penso quando acordo todos os dias. Não há cura... Penso que faz parte de ser um ser humano sensível". 

Antes de assumir que já lhe passou pela cabeça fazer mal a si próprio, "todos pensamos nisso, mesmo aqueles que erradamente assumem que são felizes", o músico diz que não toma medicação: "já passei por tudo e nada resulta. É um estado de espírito, uma coisa circunstancial".

Questionado sobre a sua relação com a indústria musical, Morrissey começa por dizer: "acho que ninguém gosta dela. Porquê? Porque é muito difícil, muito brutal. Mudou radicalmente nos últimos anos e está apenas preocupada com o marketing, não com as pessoas que cantam ou tocam". 

"Como a música parece estar a morrer e as pessoas encontraram outras coisas para fazer, as grandes editoras querem agarrar o mais que conseguirem o mais rápido que conseguirem", critica o músico, "e, portanto, veem aqueles programas de talentos horríveis, com aquelas crianças pequenas, e assinam contratos com elas.
